Nelson Jungbluth 1921 - 2008 - Nelson born in Taquara RS, Brazil . He started his career in 1936 through comic books. His drawings became internationally know through the creation of VARIG calendars, and 1972 he stands ou as the best in the world in advertising art among aviation companies. In the following decade, based on characters from his writer friend Josué Guimarães, Jungbluth pays tribute to him through an individual exhibition at Cambona Art Center, Porto Alegre, Brazil. He holds exhibitions periodically in Porto Alegre, the city where he lives and works, including graphic techniques such as screen printing. He is represented in the collection of MARGS - Art Museum of Rio Grande do Sul - with the work called "Iemanjá" oil and canvas painting. In 1995 he held an exhibition of paintings with Alice Brueggemann, at Mosaico Gallery, and participated in " Art Sees Fashion" , a collective exhibition at Xico Stockinger Gallery - Mario Quintana Culture House, Porto Alegre , Brazil. In 1997 he exhibits "Reencounters" a series of paintings at Mosaico Gallery. He died on April 5, 2008.
